25 Hours of Thunderhill Qualifying Nets DivaSpeed/SRC Team P1 Starting Position

WILLOWS, Calif. — Friday night, under darkness, Aaron Povoledo put the
No. 06 Acura Integra of Team Divaspeed on the pole in the E3 Class
with a time of 2:04.947.  Qualifying would be cut short due to a car
rolling, but not before Arron and the DivaSpeed/SRC Team had nabbed
the front-row starting spot.

"What an exciting track and event that NASA puts on here," Povoledo
said. "This is my first time at Thunderhill. That was a very exciting
session. We had the darkness, cars going everywhere. I had to get used
to the darkness. We really lucked into two quality, traffic light
laps. You never get a clear lap here with 86 cars. I had very good
visibility with our lights. Hats off to Ron Carroll at Team Divaspeed,
the car drives itself. It really goes through the left handers here.
They prepare a great car, which is fun and easy to drive. We want to
stay out of trouble in the race. We need to drive a little slower than
our best lap, to free up our brain space and make it to the end. It is
a thinking man's game. One little mistake can put you two laps down.
We need to be gentle and error free."

The testing preceding the Qualifying session proved useful to the
team, as all drivers were able to find good rhythm, with just a few
seconds separating them.

The race will begin at 11 a.m. Pacific on Saturday, and the checker
will fly at high noon on Sunday, December 4th.  Information on the
event as well as live timing and scoring can be viewed at
www.NASA25Hour.com., while live TV coverage can be seen at
